Has the change of the year got you feeling like you want to dance? Or perhaps you would like to sweat your anxiety out?
One of our homegrown artists is Krisi Olivero, works as a film-maker in Denver. She is a GROOV3 instructor, and each month she donates 100% of the money from her classes to a nonprofit. We are jazzed (complete with Jazz Hands) that she is donating all money raised this month from her Zoom dance classes to Merely Players. We can assure you that she is lively, talented, and oodles of fun --- and absolutely non-judgmental! We hope that you can check it out!
Here is the press release that Krisi put together to explain the class:
GROOV3 TO GIVE will be dancing to support Merely Players this month. Come dance, sweat, live and contribute to an amazing, creative nonprofit that makes the world a more wonderful place.
All classes are donation based. Donate whatever feels comfortable for you.
Class is online, twice a week, but there is no obligation to come to every class. Each class is self-contained, so just come whenever you can! You don't have to attend the first class to come to the others.
DM or email email@example.com to register up to 5 minutes before each class and she'll send you the Zoom link to the class.
email Krisi at firstname.lastname@example.org
Class Times are:
Tuesdays, Jan. 5, 12, 19, and 26 at 07:00pm MST
Saturdays, Jan. 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 at 11:00am MST
You can be visible or go off camera as you work out. Just wear whatever is comfortable.
What is GROOV3?
GROOV3 is a high energy unique blend of Hip Hop, Pop, Funk and Groove dance designed for all ages and levels, that combines the latest dance moves with the hottest jams, creating the ultimate dance party atmosphere. GROOV3 is a celebration of dance, the movement of our bodies, and at its core, the pure joy of living. The movement is simplified, making dance accessible to everyone. Students are highly encouraged to add their individual style, so there is no limit to creative expression and certainly, never a dull moment. GROOV3 provides a no judgmental, supportive environment for people to DANCE like a superstar, SWEAT out their day and LIVE a happy, healthy life.
"This one means so much to me! Mona and Charles, founders of Merely Players, were my second family growing up. They raised me to be a collaborative, creative, empathetic and handy human being. I owe so much of who I've become to them. If you like me, then you like them. Let's help support the arts through this tough time because they are there to support us through all of our lives."

WAITING IN THE WINGS EPISODE SIX
WAITING IN THE WINGS is our streaming series in which we visit with one of our players each episode. That guest then gets to tag the next guest to be interviewed.
Kate Ishay is a stage manager extraordinaire and one of Merely Players' most active company members. She enlightens us about stage managing with Mona Wood-Patterson in our sixth episode of "Waiting in the Wings," a virtual tag streaming series for the Players. If you don't have time to watch, turn up the audio and just listen as you go about your day!
